The Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera)
It took me several years to get comfortable with this freeing form of art. This mixed media that made me feel so out of control. Hahaha!!!! That's sorta the point...letting go and just letting it happen. Then going with it.
I'd already pulled out the stencils I was inspired to use by Jeremiah 29:11; "For I know the Plans I have for YOU declares THE LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope." They included my favorite Lotus Flower from Stencil Girl and one with inspiring and encouraging words.
Looking at my pages, I thought they resembled what the Lotus Flower roots must look like under the water; reaching deep and allowing the flower to reflect it's deep groundedness. Though the flower is being rocked about, the roots hold it firmly in place.
I don't know about you but I need to shout an AMEN!!! I get all goose flesh when God speaks to me when I'm listening!!!
Without even giving thought to perfection and imperfection, I chose the number 7. The number of God. The number of PERFECTION!
Yes. Even in the midst of my imperfect Inspirational Wednesday...which was done on Thursday.... :p ....even knowing that nothing I do will ever be perfect, I can relax in knowing that God has it covered.
I now do my art with purpose. (SMILE!)
After I do my art with purpose then God speaks even more to me when I come and write about it. He uses everything in our lives. Nothing ever, ever, ever goes to waste! NOTHING!
I read a quote by Lois Evans, the wife of the wonderful preacher from Dallas Tx, Tony Evans, and it said, "when God closes a door, don't push it open, because you might not like what you find."
TRUTH! Thank you Lord.
